It's an Apple M1 and yes using the supplied charger and cable, checked and not paused or on hold, optimised charging off, still not charging, it happened after the last update as well and came right after I used some combination of keys that restarted it and began charging again, think it was the PRAM reset option as suggested earlier but it has not worked, in fact once I used those combinations it would restart automatically directly after every time I tried to shut it down.
To be Technically Correct
The is NO SMC in Apple Silicon computers so whatever Keyboard Command that was used would have done Zero, Nada and nothing
If you have Mac with Apple silicon
Make sure that your Mac is plugged into power, then take one of these actions.
- Restart: Choose Apple menu > Restart.
- Or shut down: Choose Apple menu > Shut Down. Then press the power button on your Mac to turn it on again.
No other steps are necessary for Mac computers with Apple silicon.
Reset NVRAM on your Mac
The steps to reset NVRAM don't apply to Mac computers with Apple silicon, and aren't needed on those computers.
