i moved most of my money to apple pay today and come to find out i can’t even use apple pay in any stores or stores that support it. even when putting my apple pay near the tap thing in a store it would load then go back to saying tap/insert.

Apple Pay is simply a way to connect to a payment terminal, not an account you can dd money to. To use Apple Pay you need to add a credit card, debit card, etc. So where exactly did you move your money? Your Apple Account or Apple Cash debit card.
If you moved your money to your Apple Account you cannot make payments at retail stores You can only use funds in your Apple Account to purchase Apple products and services, nothing else.
You can’t put funds into Apple Pay, it’s not an account. Where exactly did you put the funds?
