can’t software update because of parent password

My Macbook won’t let me software update into macros Sequoia 15.3.1. I don’t have parental restrictions and I am the admin of this computer. But when I update it requires a password and the user is labeled “parent.” I am unable to choose other options, I’ve tried all passwords and even resetting my passwords but nothing works.

If it helps, I used this computer in high school where they downloaded a firewall and uploaded apps needed for school. But I have graduated and the firewall is no longer applicable. I wonder if my computer is still connected to the high school, but I have had no problems until my software update.

MacBook Air, macOS 13.2

If what I fear the most.

There is Nothing More you can do On You Own - Full Stop

It appears from your description

The School Has Locked you Out of Erasing the Computer

Even if you were above to Erase the computer

The Serial Number that is encoded on the Logicboard of this computer is Registered to and by the school in their MDM Service

Meaning, at any time that can once Again Lock the Computer

You only choice I see, bring the computer to the High School and have them Release this computer to you - full stop

I deleted the MDM profile but it doesn’t do anything. I decided to completely reset my laptop but it claims that “Erase Assistant is not supported on this Mac” and it still asks for “parent password.” I have asked my old classmates, some couldn't delete and some just decided to buy a new laptop.

Are there any other options available? Maybe a way to make my mac compatible with erase assistant?
