Can I use my old MacBook Pro SuperDrive with a new MacBook Pro?

I have a new 14” Mac Book Pro (Nov 2024). I also have an old Mac Book Pro Mid 2012 with an

internal SuperDrive.

Is there a way I can use the 2012 MBP and its SuperDrive to burn a CD/DVD from the new 2024 MBP?

Im looking to do this without removing the SuperDrive from the 2012 MBP. Is this at all possible? I didn’t have much luck googling.

I don't know the answers but you might want to invest in an external SuperDrive; I believe they are pretty cheap.
