Contacts app on my iPhone super slow to pulling up my contacts

My iPhone 13 is super slow pulling up my contacts. More often then not, the screen turns black and I have the spinning wheel in the middle. It then goes back to the main screen. Similar things happen when I dial a number. I have cleared the phone back to factory settings and reloaded my information from my Apple ID and the same issue occurs.

You're correct the advice posted above about Cache's was a waste unfortunately.


How much free memory do you have on your iPhone? Open Settings > General > iPhone Storage


If you are low in memory, it can certainly impact performance on your phone.

None of the clear cache stuff was even located in my phone. That was a waste of time.

Battery health is 98%. I have forced a restart dozens of times and it hasn't helped. It stops me from making calls every day. My IOS is up to date it is 18.3.1.

Hello again ~ In addition to *lobsterghost1’s* excellent advice on storage…have you had that iPhone 13 battery replaced? If so by Apple? No iPhone 13 unless the battery has been properly replaced by Apple should have a battery health of 98%. The other stuff posted about cache clearing and so on is pure nonsense. Sorry that your time was wasted when you need that the least.

I visited the Apple Store and met with Natalie. She ran a full hardware check. There was nothing wrong with the hardware, including the battery and sim card. She felt it was likely a software issue that was loaded from phone to phone. She wiped my phone using her computer then reloaded from her computer as if its a fresh install from iCloud. All of the extra Apps I had on the phone that didn't come as a standard on the phone needed to be added by me personally but the issues I was having have been fixed. ISSUES FIXED!
