KVM switch for dual monitor setup with Mac Mini M2 Sonoma 14.6

I just bought a Mac Mini M2 (2023) and a KVM (like) switch from UGREEN that I saw on this community discussion board.

The Mac Mini can connect to both monitors but can only duplicate, not extend. Under Display settings, it lists only one of the two monitors even though it duplicates to the other, and on the toggle offers only Roku TV, not the other monitor.

It looks like some community members think KVM switches won't work but some have recommended some models that take a little manual manipulation every time, including the "HDMI KVM Switch 2 Monitors 3 Computers EDID Simulation 4K@60Hz 3 Ports KVM Switches Dual Monitor for 3 PC Share 4 USB 3.0 Ports and 2 Screens."

Others have suggested docking stations on Mac Mall and other sites.

The setup is a HP and Acer monitor, and USB Logitech keyboard and mouse. The keyboard and mouse work great, the only thing lacking is the ability to extend the display to the second monitor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Suspect not enough information to get response from the community. Which KVM switch were you using? Does the KVM switch have 4 video inputs and 2 video outputs? Did you connect to the correct pair of inputs?

If I disregard the KVM, does your monitors have multiple digital inputs? Have you considered/tried directly connecting to the monitors without going through the KVM?

Thank you- I need a setup where I can connect either a PC laptop or a Mac Mini to a dual monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I do not want to connect only to the Mac Mini.

i am using a $35 non-powered docking tool from UGREEN that does fine with the laptop but not the Mac Mini. It has two hdmi inputs and usb-a slots for the keyboard and mouse, and one usb-c output.
