How can I fix text message alert issues on my iPhone 14?

I have an iPhone 14 and I do not hear my alert tone for text messages. I have checked and Bluetooth is connected to my iPhone and Apple Watch. There are no other devices connected. Why don’t I hear my alerts? I have power the phone on and off I have also tried changing the alert tone and nothing seems to work.
