I just started getting an envelope icon on files downloaded from email messages (Mac Mail). I have not updated my OS so not sure why this is suddenly happening. I would not care, except when I opened a Word file downloaded from an email, edited it and saved it, I cannot attach it to a new email. Only if I resave it with a new name am I allowed to attach it. What gives??? Dave

That envelope exists because files downloaded from Mail get an extended attribute, but that should not prevent you from using the file as you see fit.
It is working just fine for me.
What exactly happens when you try to attach that edited and saved file to an e-mail?
When I tried to attach the Word file on my desktop to a new email it was grayed out so I could not select it. Anything else on the desktop was fine. I just recreated the situation and now it works fine. Very strange. Dave
