Why is my iPhone 16 Pro Max typing so slowly?

Just got an iPhone 16 pro max yesterday and the typing is terrible!!! It takes forever to type a text out now- I feel like I have to press harder, but even still it will miss letters here and there, making me go back and correct spelling. I’ve done a network reset, keyboard reset, turned the phone off and back on, Haptic Touch switched to fast…nothing is working. Phone also is fully updated. I had the 14 before this and had zero issues. Any advice appreciated- this is terrible! (My husband got the same phone yesterday as well- and while his lags, it’s doesn’t seem as bad as mine. He also doesn’t text as fast as I do either)
