iPhone alarm volume OFF after skipping one day of the schedule

My alarm normally works GREAT....except.

If I get ready for bed when I am on call for work, I need to be accessible all night but I don't have to wake up to go to work in the morning so my alarm can be disabled.

So I'm getting set for bed, my phone is set up for normal sleep: Do Not Disturb in Sleep Mode, Alarm on. I turn off the Sleep Mode and I go to turn off the morning alarm without changing the overall schedule. I do that by going to Health app, Sleep category, Schedule and then Alarm Options where I turn OFF the Alarm.

This works great. Until...

The following morning a day later, everything looks good. My alarm is back on according to the schedule. But when morning comes NO ALARM sound. When I wake up, my watch has the appearance of sending an alarm, but everything is silent.

Yes, sound is up, alarm sound is up, haptics up, face attention off, ringer up, ringer on.

I have never experienced this problem and I've been using Sleep for a while. Are you wearing your Watch to bed all night? While I have an alarm set for every day of the week, and on certain days it is different than others, when it comes a day that I do not have to use the alarm, such as today because of the holiday, I don't turn mine off the same as you. I go to Control Center, tap on the Alarm icon and it opens the clock app, alarm tab. I tap on Change next to the Sleep/Wake Alarm. On that next page, I go to the bottom of the page and turn off the Alarm switch, then tap Done. It then brings up a warning box about changing to all days that meet that schedule? Then a set of selections, Change Next Alarm Only, Change This Schedule, or Cancel. I select Change Next Alarm Only, and the alarm for today did not go off. I will get the warning tonight, 16 minutes before my scheduled Sleep time, and tomorrow morning my alarm goes off. I opt for no sound and just use vibration for the alarm, and as long as I have my Watch on, there is no sound from the iPhone, as it should be, since it is on silence as well.

The only thing I can think of to try is to go to the Health app and completely remove your current Sleep Schedule and then power the iPhone off and back on, then go back to Health and set it up again. See if that helps.

I could not address that. However, if you are using the Sleep as part of the iOS, there is not a separate app for that, it is part of Health. If you are doing things like I said, then something isn't right. I don't need my alarm for the next 2 days. I will be turning it off for tomorrow morning, then I will have it turned on for Friday and will see if I get sound on Friday and will report back. You may wish to check with Apple Support if you have time, but that is up to you.

Thanks for your reply, Chris

Yes, I wear the watch all night every night. I have tried going to the Clock, Change Alarm, turn off next only. Same problem. It skips the next alarm but the following day, when it should be on, no sound is made. When I wake up on my own, the watch has the face that indicates the alarm is going off. But it's silent.

I'll try turning it off and on, but I just did an iOS update and it's still happening. I wonder if I can delete the Sleep app and reload it??

I just got up from the alarm and wanted to share with you that it worked just fine. Like I said, I had it turned off for yesterday, then it turned back on for today as scheduled. Against my better judgement, I left the sound on for both the iPhone and the Watch. I usually have them both on silent so I just get the vibration to get up, but it sounded no problem.

As I said earlier, I would not know what else to try. When you open the sleep to change, do you see the sound setting and the volume setting for the alarm there? My best recommendation is to remove sleep alarm completely and then set it up again. Maybe once this comes back to the top of the list from my response, someone else may read it and provide any additional experiences or tips. Good luck.
