HomePod 2 Bugs with Apple TV Stereo Pairing

I'm losing my mind. The HomePod pair for my media room sound great and, at first, worked great. However over the last 6 months or so, I've been pulled into a crazymaking abyss of (presumably) software driven dysfunction.

> Randomly plays iTunes at all hours of the day. (e.g. effing LimpBizkit ((?!!!!)) started at 4 AM today).

> Volume goes down to zero persistently, initiating a wrestling match with me for control. I typically lose.

> Phantom Siri requests (and super high latency compared to Alexa...ehem. likely the consequence of AWS' Outpost infrastructure, imo)

All of which have, in practical terms, bricked my HomePods 2. BUT NO ISSUES with the 8 pairs of HomePod Minis.

I work in tech; I work in edge computing; I work with many network engineers. I am a savvy tech consumer, gosh darnit

I AM STUMPED. Hands in the air, hair pulled out; voice horse from cursing at Cupertino.

We have more Apple in our house than an eff'in orchard -- and I'm ready to jump ship to a different ecosystem because of this.

@apple - is there a SW fix coming for this?

UPDATE: I fixed it. Turns out the problem is hardware; the touch sensor at the top is defective. Disconnect it from the board, and everything (else) works perfectly.

Difficult to diagnosis given confounding variable like eARC and MESH. But its definitively HW.

Apple ought to release an update to toggle off the touch sensor (instead of just adjusting sensitivity)
