iphone 16 with iOS 18.3.1 no longer connecting to CarPlay even though Apple Intelligence is on

HELP! I've tried everything and can't figure this out. My iphone 16 recently updated to iOS 18.3.1 and now my phone won't attach (via usb) to CarPlay like it usually does. I keep getting a message on my car screen that says "CarPlay not available. To use CarPlay, enable Siri in the Settings app on your iphone." I DO have apple intelligence toggled on (see attached) and there is no other place I can find where I'd also need to initiate this as there isn't a place for Siri specifically any longer with the new bundled Siri and Apple Intelligence update. I've googled and googled and tried everything in the forums. I don't understand how to turn on Siri any further than it already is to connect my CarPlay. I need it badly for maps while driving! Thank you, thank you for any help :)

I should note I've already made sure CarPlay is enabled in the Content & Privacy Restrictions apps.

OK....try a simple Forced Restart on your iPhone, which, btw., is something I do immediately after EVERY iOS update --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support (CA)

I can tell you we have two iPhones on iOS 18.3.1 and neither of them has had any issues with connecting to CarPlay since the update.

According to your screenshot of your iPhone settings, Siri has been restricted on your phone.

Open Settings App
Tap your name at the top
Tap iCloud
Tap See All
Scan down to make sure the switch for Siri is turned on

I’m having the exact same issue but I’ve done everything suggested in this and other threads and nothing is fixing it. Is Apple working on a fix?

-iPhone 15 Pro Max

-iOS 18.3.1

-Connected via USB

-Apple Intelligence & Siri enabled

-iCloud Siri enabled

-Honda firmware 1.F1A3.42

-Bluetooth and WiFi enabled

I’ve restarted phone, forgotten the car and added again, toggled the settings… Help!

Hi! I definitely know how frustrating this is. I went to every thread I could find with no luck. Have you called Apple Care yet for help? That's what I ended up doing and they shared my screen with me and navigated into all these setting I didn't know existed and figured it out. I'm not actually being that helpful as I don't remember which setting ended up needing to be changed - but calling them did get me sorted! I hope that helps as I was going CRAZY.
