How to backup an iPhone 15

Trying to backup my iPhone 15. I am anal about backups in all my devices. Now that Apple has abandoned iTunes how do you backup the phone? And iCloud is not an answer as I keep all my data where I can touch it.

iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 18

Thank you very much for your reply and suggestion. The Windows solution was to use something called Apple Devices on my PC. I went to the Microsoft Store and downloaded Apple Devices and installed it. It doesn't work either. My pc understands when my iPhone is connected as it starts charging the iPhone but neither Apple Device or iTunes apparently wants to work with its sibling.

Thank you for the article. I will check each of those ideas simply because I have about 6 more months left on my contract for my iPhone 15. However I will not be staying in the Apple ecosystem. Itunes was a gem and they have deliberately quit supporting it with no adequate replacement. I won't deal with a company that cares that little about keeping their ecosystem together and modern. I have been with Apple for over 25 years and it is simply time to find a better vendor.

Edit: Unfortunately this article is for a problem of the system doesn't recognize the iPhone. Mine is recognized immediately after connecting it to the PC. It simply is not recognized in Apple Devices or iTunes.

Well my bad. For whatever reason my main box (AMD 9950X and Asus Crosshair X870E) wouldn't back up either with iTunes or Apple Devices. I decided to try my 2nd box (AMD 3950X and Asus Crosshair Hero) and have only tried iTunes so far but it is now on Step 2 of 6 in a Sync process. They have essentially identical OS drives so I am a bit baffled but so long as I can backup my phone with one of my 3 PCs that makes me a happy camper. Either hardware related to my USB-C outlets or some software differences. Now I will chase how to fix low power USB-C hardware. Thank you all for your suggestions.

After looking into it a bit it appears that over 60% of the reviews of Apple Devices are 1 star reviews. So it doesn't work for far more people than it works for. So apparently Apple has no solution for backups and maintenance of their devices. Both iTunes and Apple Devices don't work. Maybe this is time to move over to the Android system. I am totally surprised that Apple has dropped the ball so badly. It is nearly like they have given up on the iPhones.
