How do I restore composite playlist artwork from first 4 songs in manually migrated Music library on macOS?

My mp3s are from my CDs. [no cloud, no Apple Store]

I did a manual migration of 'Music' from old macbookair to new macbookair.

Very greatful, that I got all the ratings and playlists. terrific.

What didn't make it over is fair amount of the artwork. after multiple calls, told it can't be done?

Ok then, I will manually regenerate these 100s of playlists and that will restore the covers. Tried to. Failed.

then as a test, I created a new test playlist, added 6 songs, and it no longer generates a playlist artwork to be a composite of eg art work of the first 4 songs, as Mac OS used to do. Has anyone figured out a workaround for this lost feature?

I can't really drag drop an image because image is a 'tag' within the mp3 itself.

thanks for any help!!!!

2025 02 17 workaround Erfolg!

take an 'old' playlist having 'correct' artwork,

create a duplicate playlist,

add your 'new' songs to this duplicate playlist,

delete 'old' songs from this duplicate playlist,

and, oila, magic!

artwork of the newly added songs appears,

then edit title.

absolutely no clue as to why or how ....mystery meat.

und wie gesagt auf Deutsch: '...mehr Gluck als Verstand...' = dumb luck!

and maybe the title moderator will do his magic and properly re title this thread so others similarly frustrated can have illusion of control once again? thanks.
