song is not currently available in your country or region iphone 16

This is one of the reasons that I have never subscribed to apple music. Every time I get a new phone, songs get "grayed out" and I can not access them. This has happened since 2008 or 09. So frustrating. Even when I have apple itune receipts for the songs! Anyway, the new message is "song is not currently available in your country or region." My country listed in my phone is United States, so not sure why, again, Apple is taking away music that I have purchased. I have the music on 2 macs and my old iphone. Argh!! Any ideas for a fix?

iPhone XR, iOS 18

I'm having the same issue with this except I do have Apple Music subscription. Own it Own it Own it. Shouldn't have to manually plug it into my iMac to retrieve it and that in it self is a hassle too. Also at the very least these songs I own should be replaced with the different albums they appear on at the iTunes Store.
