Prevent iPhone sending calls to hearing aids

iPhone SE (3rd gen), IOS 18.3. There is a setting under Accessibility, Hearing Devices, Audio Routing, Call Audio. I set it to “Never Hearing Devices” but still get calls sent to my hearing aids. Anyone got this option to work?

Audio hand off during phone calls. My new iPhone 16 is running iOS 18.2.1 (note: this problem never occurred on my old iPhone XR, which also ran on iOS 18.2.1) During a recent phone call, the audio was somehow routed from iPhone to my hearing aids. Except, I wasn’t wearing my hearing aids. So I lost part of the call, as if the call had dropped. After finishing the call I looked in the accessibility/ hearing aids settings. The call routing is set to ‘automatic’, what ever that actually means. Wondering if there’s a way to prevent call audio from being routing to hearing aids when hearing aids are not Bluetooth coupled to the iPhone? TIA

call routing iphone 14 accessibility I have iphone 14, ios 17.5.1. For years I've had the ability to select my hearing aids when a call is coming in. This morning that was not a choice. In it's place was "ipad" which I don't use and I never had it on any list. My iphone is connected to my HAs via bluetooth. No issue there. But the HAs are not on the list either to select when the call comes in NOR are they on the list when I go to Settings/Accessibility/Touch/Call Audio Routing. I can't figure out why the aids on not on the list in the Settings nor on the list when the call comes in. I can't hear the caller without that feature. Can someone please help on this? Thank you.

That option does work for both me and for my wife -- but even with it on there is a short beep in the hearing aids just before a call rings on the iPhone and we sometimes get a popup on the screen to choose where we want the voice to be directed.
