How can I track my stolen iPhone?
My phone was stolen at a mall in south Africa on 31 december and the thief was now trying to use it but it failed I guess

Whether or not you can track your phone will depend on a number of different factors.
- The battery needs to have a good charge
- The phone needs to be powered on
- The phone needs to have a good Internet connection
Frankly, the chances that all 3 of these requirements will be met are not good, but it won't hurt to keep trying to locate the phone.
Be extremely careful if you see a message from "Apple" or "Apple Support" that indicates that your phone has been found you need to click a link to provide more information.
Apple does NOT get involved with lost or stolen phones, so you know that any message like this is a scam that is trying to trick you into revealing your Apple ID, Passwords, etc so the bad guys can get into your phone. Ignore and delete any messages like this that you might see.
