Went to delete an empty file in the app and the app disappeared. The files are located in Pages downloads but cant be opened. Contacted Apple support Chat and referred to senior agent by phone.. call cut off no return call from Apple. You can access the files though by going to the App store and access the files app. It will on allow you open not download but you can access your files.

If the entry in the App Store says "Open" rather than having a cloud icon for download, it means the app is still installed on the iPad.
Looks for it on all the Home screens and if not there in the App Library. You can drag it back from there to any Home Screen you want.

Thanks… the file icon is not on home or app library…and does not comeback after reboot.. so there is no path from the home screen to the files. Fortunately (although the icon is hidden) I can access the files through the app store route and possibly store them elsewhere. Unfortunately I cannot delete the app and reinstall without the icon. So kind of hooped so far.
If it got moved to a folder or hidden in a hidden some screen or anything like that it won't come back after a reboot.
It has to be on there somewhere however.
Does the App Library search option not find it?
You know there is a file icon in the App Library but not the same as the one that disappeared…… but it has the files in it! Go figure… I will drag it onto the home screen as you suggested…tnx for all the suggestions
