Is this a lost iPhone scam?

I lost my phone the other day and marked it lost on find my phone. My partner has just received an sms from a US number saying a sound was played on my iPhone and providing a link to see the location. When I go to the web page it looks like a genuine apple page and asks me to enter my phone passcode. Am I safe to do so?

Another tell tale sign is there no such thing as iSupport from Apple. Do NOT interact with the scam artist at all.

Your iPhone was stolen, not lost. It will not be returning.

The thieves just tried to get your Apple Account credentials.

You may get another text message or phone call from “Apple” or from ”police” reporting the iPhone has been found, and requesting you prove your identity with (of course) your Apple Account credentials.

Not true. Your phone will connect automatically to your cellular network, assuming that your carrier has a cell tower in the area.

Whoever has your phone cannot get into the phone unless they know your passcode, Apple ID and Apple ID Password.

Be extremely careful if you receive any kind of message from "Apple" or "Apple Support" requesting more information from you. Apple does NOT get involved with lost or stolen phones, so any message that you see like this is not from Apple. The message is a scam that is trying to trick you into revealing your personal information.
