What's the Best way to get a Music from my laptop to a new Mac Mini?

I used migration assistant to set up my Mac Mini but then tried (and failed) to move the music from the Mac Mini to an external storage device. Now I just want to start over by getting what's on the laptop onto my Mac Mini.

I should add here that I don't want to lose any of the music, ratings, or playlists.

Do I use Migration Assistant? Or just drag and drop to replace what I've got on the Mac Mini?
