Booklet printing on a new 2024 Mac Mini

Why is printing a booklet a printer issue rather than a Pages issue. I can't print to a perfectly good Dell 1710 laser duplex printer because Pages won't give me the booklet option on the print screen.

You might have some success by following the steps in the user manual, or perhaps this is what you have tried already?

1 From the computer's software application, select File Print.

2 Click Properties (or OptionsPrinter, or Setup, depending on the application) to view the printer

driver settings.

3 From the Page Layout tab, click More Page Layout Options.

4 Click Booklet.

5 If your print job is large, you may want to use the Sheets per Bundle option.

6 Select the appropriate binding edge for your print job.

To print a visible fold mark on the pages, select Print fold mark.

7 Click OK twice.

8 Click OK on the Print window to send the job to print.

Item 2: Not sure what settings need to change, nothing obvious. Changed a few paper handling setting but still can get the booklet to come up under Layout.

However I could get it with my Epson 630 printer. Expensive ink so that is not what I want. The Dell 1710 is much better for my print job if I can get it to work.

I have trouble understanding why Apple with all their intelligence can't put the booklet feature in Pages rather than having a special printer. I may have to get a separate app to do their job!
