Command and click malfunction when selecting Apple Music tracks

Apple Music app on MacOS has an issue with the command button. When attempting to select individual tracks for a playlist, the command button eventually stops working normally. It works great when a machine is freshly booted but over successive days it ceases to allow the selection of an individual track, but still works when an entire album is selected and then the command click function is used to "de-select" individual tracks. I experience this on multiple machines.
