Brand new Mac Mini why is Garage Band acting up?

M4, 16 meg memory, over 170 G free hard drive space, but still getting the "Disk too slow" error recording in Garage Band. I was getting that error on my 2021 iMac with M1. 16 meg 20 G hard drive space... is it just a question of too many applications open? I don't feel I've changed anything, including how many open apps, but this is happening.. Could there be a virus or malware involved? Clean My Mac says no . Please advise.

Mac mini, macOS 15.3

If Apple worked like Microsoft Windows, which Apple does not regarding Operating Systems

Apple would have included " Disk Cleanup " and " Defrag Disk " as standalone application in macOS

I am equating " Disk Cleanup " to the infamous " CleanMyMac " aka " BrickMyMac "

Any of the below should be removed as per Developers Instructions

Disk Cleaner

CleanMyMac , aka “ BrickMyMac

Specific to CleanMyMac aka “ BrickMyMac

To put the CleanMyMac in context and the damages it may have or has already done.

This application can or will Muck Up your User Account ( Home Folder ) of this machine.

It does not touch the Operating System itself unless you consider your User Account ( Home Folder ) as part of the Operating System

Then in that specific context - it has Mucked Up the Operating  System

In which case, the Operating System is hosed

What one does with this information is unto the recipient

Add on

Running the brand new M4 Mac Mini with the 16 GB Unified Memory and the 500 GB SSD drive

Absolutely zero third Party security software nor any disk cleaners / optimizer

The machine just flies through any amount of tasks and application being used

I second @Keith Barkley's suggestion - Etrecheck application

Download the Application Etrecheck directly from the Developer.

It’s a diagnostic tool that doesn’t change your computer at all. It gives you a clear and easy-to-read list of both your hardware and software

You can get it for free or pay for extra features. And don’t worry, the report won’t reveal any personal information.
