I use 16 PM and running with IOS 18.3, i have problem with Attention aware feature (face ID and passcode). My iphone doesn’t lowering the volume of call ring or alarm ring while facing iphone to my face. I did tern off and on this option, restart and turn on off iphone but these don’t help.

i just update 18.3.1 bug fix update and result is still same. Apple doesn’t resolve this problem in this update. I think apple degrades its quality.
May sound silly, but clean your iPhone screen and see if Attention Aware works. Sometimes, if the screen is dirty, it can interfere with the True Dept camera.

Hi same situation here also but why not apple agree that something problematic in 18.3? As per my knowledge apple must include in new update this feature enable and working properly
Still after 18.3.2 my attention aware features is not working at all.
The iOS 18.4 update seems to be causing CarPlay issues. Now I can't use CarPlay either. Thanks Apple :)
Hi I also talked with Sr advisor but I don’t think so he was able to solve this problem. He gave me solution that i have to turn on Voice control. But I don’t understand why. But this problem is in ios 18.3, so he told me after many unsuccessful efforts, i have to wait till new update and observe the situation. 😀 funny 😆

Just checked with an incoming call on my iPhone and it has not been fixed. I have provided feedback to Apple, a few times now. I did suggest in one of my feedback posts that if the feature is not going to work, they should remove attention aware settings from our phones.

yesterday i got call from Apple Sr.Technical person and he told me that "WHEN DEVICE IS LOCKED AT THAT TIME ATTENTION AWARE FEATURE NOT WORKING" its strange why apple did this? what is the logic behind that? Its strongly recommended that pl update this bug in next update and this feature may work with lock/unlock device. This is most important feature so we need it. Thanks
I feel the same way with my i phone 16 pro.attention awareness feature works well when the phone in my hand but when it’s locked it doesn’t work well.(volume is not getting lower) i think this was happened after i updated to ios 18.3.1. Waiting for another update.
Iphone 16 Pro, ios 18.4.1 (19/APRIL/2025), still same problem with "Settings/Face ID/Attention Aware: ON"... it only works if the iphone is unlocked. If the phone it's locked and you pick up and look at the phone, it keeps ringiing with volume high), it does not lower the sound. Any sugestion?
Attention Awareness is currently broken on iPhone. Do Apple a favor and let them know of the issue through their feedback link below. The more reports they get, the more inclined they will be to fix it.
Let's not stop and continue to send Feedback to Apple. It's not normal that they destroyed such a function. All its meaning is lost, since in most cases the phone is in a locked state. We continue to demand a return attention aware🙏
Due to the fact that they disabled Attention Aware for the locked screen, I was forced to reduce the volume of the ringtone to a minimum, because I don't like to hold a noisy phone in front of my face. Until 18.3 I had a volume in the middle, I looked at the screen and the sound was muted. And now because of Apple I miss a huge number of calls and messages 😡
