Sharing location with wife but hers shows no location

My wife and I are both sharing our location through Find My and iMessage. For my location on her phone it shows the current location as the "Now" location. For her location on my phone it shows 15 hours ago and then says no location found.

I have tried resetting her location settings. Sharing and un-sharing locations. Turning of location and turning on then allowing the location sharing clicking on Allow while using and Allow once. None of those fixes helped. Both of us are on the most current iOS. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and she has a brand new iPhone 16. We also had this issue with her iPhone 14. I can also view my kids locations and both of them have their own Apple ID's. How can I fix this issue?

It sounds like you’ve already tried most of the common troubleshooting steps, but here are some additional things you can check that might help resolve the issue:

1. Verify Find My Settings

On your wife’s iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services and make sure Location Services is On.

Scroll down to Find My and ensure it is set to “While Using the App” and “Precise Location” is enabled.

Go to Settings > [Your Wife’s Name] > Find My, and confirm that Share My Location is turned on.

2. Check Background App Refresh

Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and ensure Find My is enabled.

If Background App Refresh is off entirely, try turning it on for both Wi-Fi & Cellular.

3. Ensure System Services are Enabled

On her iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > System Services (scroll to the bottom).

Ensure Find My iPhone, Networking & Wireless, and Significant Locations are all turned on.

4. Verify Apple ID and iCloud Sync

On her iPhone, go to Settings > [Her Name] > iCloud and ensure Find My iPhone is enabled.

Also, confirm she’s signed into the correct Apple ID.

Try signing out of iCloud and signing back in (Settings > [Her Name] > Sign Out, restart the phone, then sign back in).

5. Restart & Reset Network Settings

Restart both of your devices.

If that doesn’t work, on her phone, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will erase Wi-Fi passwords but can resolve location issues.

6. Ensure Find My Servers Aren’t Down

Sometimes, Apple’s Find My service experiences downtime. You can check Apple’s System Status to see if there’s an outage.

7. Check for Carrier/Network Issues

Ensure her phone has a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or Cellular).

If using cellular data, go to Settings > Cellular > Find My and confirm it’s enabled.

If the issue happens on Wi-Fi, try switching to Cellular and see if the location updates.

8. Test on Another Device

If you have an iPad or Mac signed into your Apple ID, try checking her location from that device.

If her location updates fine there, the issue could be isolated to your iPhone.

9. Try a Different Apple ID (if possible)

If nothing else works, try temporarily logging into a different Apple ID on her phone and setting up Find My location sharing to see if the problem persists.
