iTunes drag and drop issue on Windows 11 after KB5050094 update

On Feb 2nd, 2025 the drag and drop ability on my itunes Version 12.13.4.4 / Windows 11 Version 24H2 stopped working. I now cannot drag and drop a song onto the playlist (right clicking add to playlist still works) or rearrange the songs in the playlist. Extremely frustrating!

Looking through some advice on other threads I've verified:

  • These are Standard playlists, not Smart playlists
  • The View in Sort By is Playlist Order and Descending
  • The itunes.exe permissions has Full Control in Security for my user name and administration
  • I have shut down and restarted the app
  • The queue is clear

The only change I can find that occurred around that time was a Windows 11 update for KB5050094 (OS Build 26100.3037) Preview

I'm stumped! As a dj if I can't reorder playlists itunes is untenable as a music management solution. If I can't figure out the solution soon I'll move on to another app, though I'm loathe to do so based on the time commitment I'll need to get back to where I am with itunes.

Thanks to anyone with ideas on this one!
