Iphone 16 Pro Photographic styles missing in the photo app

This is driving me mad. Since the last update, every photo I go to on my phone to edit, the Photographic styles icon is missing.

I can take a photo and choose a style beforehand. But I cant edit a photo after.

Where has it gone. It's resorted back to the older icons at the bottom when editing which are: Live | Adjust | Filters | Crop| Clean Up

Where is Styles? It was to the left, but now its nowhere to be seen.

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 18

Hi, I've already checked that. High Efficiency is turned on.

However I have just fixed it for anyone experiencing the same glitch.

I turned High efficiency off.

Force restarted my iPhone by:

  1. Press the volume up button
  2. Press the volume down button
  3. Press and hold the power button

The on restart I went to camera, format, then turned High efficiency back on.

Styles has magically reappeared.

Now my edit icons along the bottom are:

Styles | Live | Adjust | Crop | Clean up

I don't have the same camera model as you are having, so I can't test this, but the user guide is stating: Use latest generation Photographic Styles with an iPhone 16 model camera - Apple Support

"Note: To edit Photographic Styles in the Photos app, Camera needs to capture photos with High Efficiency image capture. To turn on High Efficiency, go to Settings  > Camera > Formats, then tap High Efficiency."

Did you perhaps disable "High Efficiency"? Then turn it on again.
