iOS 18.3 upgrade slowed my iPhone 13 Pro Max

Yesterday, I upgraded my phone to iOS 18.3. After upgrade, some apps on my phone become very slow. Microsoft OneDrive is not working well. I am experiencing a lot of jerky movements while scrolling up and down. Search stops returning any results and displays “Couldn’t find anything”. WhatsApp is also slowed down.

It's an easy and known issue with apple.

"you have a older phone or product and you are happy and you don't buy anymore from apple?

here is an update that will slow down your product (disguised as a security one). Now you are angry and frustrated and will likely buy another new phone."

they forgot that in the list of chips that should be affected by this disgusting behavior to not add some of the newer phone chips.

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

Was/Is your device Jailbroken? If that's the situation, please be informed that attributing the issues to iOS updates may not be accurate.

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

For me, it was iPad Pro. I have had no issues with the last 3-4 upgrades. However, 18.3 has caused so many laggy, slow apps. I have hard reset more than once, cleared out history/cache, and several apps still lag. This is especially annoying in game apps.

I also loathe the "new" photos app. I've always used the Apple photos app, but will be finding another one. The one with 18.3 is a junky, disorganized mess.

One or two laggy apps- I would contact developers. When it's more than 10 or 12, there is 100% something in the update....too much lag to excuse as others' faults.
