MacBook Air is unresponsive and freezing frequently

I recently bought an Apple MacBook Air, 16GB RAM, 14”. Everything was fine for a month, but then it started freezing. I thought it was due to an overload of programs, so I reset it to factory settings and started from scratch, but the issue persists. Even with just two programs open, like Safari and Canva, it freezes and becomes completely unresponsive. The only solution is to restart it, and there have been times when I had to restart it more than five times. It seems unreasonable to have these issues in such a short time. Could this be a manufacturing defect?
