iPhone 15 small silence switch on side of phone does not work

Your question is unclear. An iPhone 15 does not have a button on the side to click, but rather a silent switch to flip. Meanwhile your tagline states you have an iPhone 15 Pro Max, which has the Action Button which you indeed click. I am not aware of a “vibrate feature” within either one. Please clarify.

I have the 15 pro and it has a side button that I have always been able to use to silence my phone. It does vibrate when it goes into silent mode. Mine is also not working. All I have on my screen is a black bar with no response when I push on the side button.

Go to Settings > Action Button then you can customize the action to Silent Mode.

Thank you Zachyy, but I know that is an option. The annoyance is that the side button has always been a quick way to silence without going into the phone.

It may be a petty problem, but yet the phone used to easily be manipulated that way.

You did it! Thank you for the clarity in your instructions. I had seen this request before but I was unclear how to find the what to do after I found the "silent mode".
