Can I access my iTunes purchases without Apple Music?

Will I have to pay for a Apple Music account to transfer music purchased from iTunes on my iPad to my computer?

No, you don’t need an Apple Music subscription to transfer music purchased from iTunes on your iPad to your computer. Since you already own the purchased music, you can download it on your computer for free. Here’s how:

Method 1: Download Directly from iTunes on Your Computer

1. Open iTunes (Windows) or Apple Music (Mac, if running macOS Catalina or later).

2. Sign in with the same Apple ID used to purchase the music.

3. Go to Library > Purchased (in iTunes, click Account > Purchased).

4. Find your purchased music and click the Download button next to each song or album.

Method 2: Transfer from iPad to Computer via USB

If you already have the songs downloaded on your iPad, you can transfer them:

1. Connect your iPad to your computer via USB.

2. Open iTunes (Windows) or Finder (Mac, if using macOS Catalina or later).

3. Click on your iPad > Music.

4. Choose Transfer Purchases from iPad (this will copy purchased songs to your computer’s iTunes/Music library).

This works only for songs purchased from iTunes. If you manually added music from other sources, you may need third-party software or manual file transfers.

An Apple Music subscription is only required for streaming, not for accessing your purchased songs.
