External harddrive for macbook pro 2020

I am looking for an external hard drive for my Macbook i bought a sand disk usbC flash drive awhile ago but my computer did not recognizing it. i have a Macbook pro 2020 with 2 3 thunderbolt ports my processor is a 1.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5. i don't want to get a flash drive i want more storage so a hard drive is what i need. i just want to make sure i get one that works and is decently fast i'm just using it for videos / photos. thank you!

I suggest that you take a look at these external drive offering from OWC. If you prefer external HDDs, then another choice would be from WD. FWIW, I have used drives from both of these sources for years without any issues.

Awesome thank you for the information! I looked through those websites and I found one I like. I just want to make sure this one will work with my MacBook. I choose an SDD because they are faster than HDD also I know I won’t get the full strength of this one but I don’t think I need 2000mbs.
