Mac mini won't connect to keyboard or mouse after power outage

Power flickered, mini shut down. When restarted, won’t connect to mouse or keyboard to input password. Had to find an old wired mouse, but still not reconnected to keyboard. Surely I’m not supposed to keep an old wired mouse and keyboard in case the power goes out? Just purchased this mini 2 weeks ago. How do you enter your password if it won’t link with keyboard?

Getting Keyboard and Connector to Work:


To start with…

A. Use a Surge Protector, when Available:

You should connect this to a surge protector. Power surges and power spurs from power outages would be preventable.


B. Hold Down the Sync Button:

If you cannot connect another external keyboard and mouse, then try holding down on the sync button in your Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse:
