Syncing CD itunes library to iphone

I get this message when I try to Sync music on phone and computer. Getting dreaded "Are you sure you want to remove existing music, movies, TV shows, and books from this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library"

I have a bad enough time with this every step of the way. Now I want to be assured that if I synch the whole library it won't disappear. The menu doesn't allow to select certain files. Why should I have to synch the whole library when I have only 4 new cds I copied into the library.

iPhone SE, iOS 18

Apple's ecosystem is perhaps designed to try to prevent piracy. Syncing is one way, library to device. When you try to sync your device with a new library iTunes will suggest erasing all existing content on the device, and then placing what is in your library on it. If you correctly move your library from one computer to another this shouldn't happen.

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - Apple Community to pull in content from the device. The easiest method, at least for music, may be a temporary subscription to the Apple Music service, merging the music on the device into an iCloud Music Library which you then download to a computer and backup for security.
