Playing music through my truck the music is constantly interrupted and when I connect to my headset and make a phone call after a short while the persons voice distorts and I have to hang up and call back and just wait till it does it again then repeat the process

Are you near an airport or military facility? These sites use C-Band radar for surface and low altitude tracking, which shares the same microwave band as Bluetooth and can cause interference. So the first question, is the problem appearing everywhere you go, or just in one specific area?
If it is everywhere, Forget the connection from both the iPhone and the device, and then re-pair.
