There are multiple settings that affect the brightness of a screen including Auto Brightness, True Tone, White point and others.

The other issue is the 16 Pro Max has a brighter screen than 14 Pro Max. The 14 PM has average max brightness of 800 cd/m2 and 16 PM has 1000 cd/m2.

Are you observing the screens in the same ambient light conditions? Have you checked not only Dim Lock Screen, have you checked other settings?

"Screen brightness issue on iPhone 16 Pro Max: My iPhone 16 pro max screen is dimmer than my wife’s 14 pro max even it at same level brightness… have anyone face same issues?"

-------

Dim iPhone Screen:

Is this seen everywhere and on all screens? Or just certain apps?

Is "Dim Lock Screen" Enabled?:

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: Do Not Disturb
  3. Toggle On: Scheduled (if you are not using Scheduled mode already).
  4. Toggle Off: Dim Lock Screen

I have the same issue with my 16 PM, it’s dimmer than my previous 15 Pro Max and I need to mention that i have turned off everything that can affects te screen brightness such as: True Tone, white point, night shift, etc…I don’t know what Apple did with this phone, but is very disappointing, i heard that a lot of people have the same issue, but I don t know why no one report the problem, also it’s full of bugs and lags at least on the display part.
