iPhone 14 Pro telephoto camera not working

I was told that if i cover the top camera on the 14 pro the Telephoto camera and I zoom in, They wont show me anything on the screen because the telephoto camera is blocked. I have tried this on different 14 pro models and some work while some others don't yet all the phones I try out are not fakes.Somebody tell me what is the the real truth here.

On the iPhone 14 Pro, if you cover the Telephoto lens (which is the one to the right of the flash),

  • Zooming: The iPhone would likely default to using the Wide (Main) lens for zoom, resulting in a digital zoom. This means you'll lose the quality and sharpness that the optical zoom of the Telephoto lens would provide.
  • Portrait Mode: The iPhone 14 Pro uses the Telephoto lens for Portrait mode, so without it, the depth of field effect (bokeh) may not be as pronounced or may not work correctly. It may switch to using the Main lens, but the background blur might be less refined.
