GarageBand not showing Midi music in track but can hear perfectly?

Greetings, I had been using GB on an old 2011 iMac and recently bought a friend's M1 Mac Mini. GB has a few differences but one that I can't figure out is when adding a Midi keyboard track to a song with drums, guitars and bass I can't "see" the music in the track layout but I can hear it.

My old version of GB would show me the track as I was playing the keyboards on. How do I enable/see this with the newer version of GB for Mac?
