Scam Apple Support Phone Number

Fairly new Apple products user, received text msg this am that I made a purchase at the Apple Store via Apple Pay, gave this number 833-398-**** as Apple Support. I haven't set up Apple Pay yet, Scam?

Yes it is a scam. Never call any number or follow a link that asks you for personal information from an email/message. The sender can easily be spoofed, so you cannot trust what it says.

Also, don't use Google to search for a support number. Scammers will pay Google to have their results show on the top of a search page and Google is not always on top of it to prevent it from happening. If you need to contact Apple Support, only use the numbers provided by Apple here:

Yes, banks and merchants do the opposite of a scam. They don’t put a purchase through. They stop it to prevent fraud. It would say if it was you, call to Ok the purchase. Otherwise it’s blocked.


See the difference? Your text said it’s going through and to stop it you have to call. The opposite of what a bank does.
