Tap Settings > Cellular and look to see if there is an Add eSIM option.
If the option appears, contact your carrier for help to set up the new eSIM.
If an option to Add eSIM does not appear.......Either your carrier does not support eSIM.....or......you have an iPhone that was manufactured for use in China, which only supports normal SIM....and does not support eSIM at all.
Contact your carrier to setup your eSIM.
