AirPods Pro find my tracking in error

I did have a set of generation 1 AirPods pro.

I gave them to my wife.

On my iPhone I forgot them. They do NOT appear on list of my devices now.

She enabled them on her iPhone and they show on her list of devices.

However when she goes out for a walk she is getting "find my unknown device following you message come up"

See screen shot.

How do I stop this from happening ?

Pausing is for 1 day only.

thanks

About AirPods and Find My:

If Find My was enabled with these, then note that the local shown is based off of the last time the device they were connected to that itself was connected to the internet. So, that paired-to device is what is apparently moving in Find My --not the AirPods. This is because AirPods are not assigned their own IP Address.

"AirPods Pro find my tracking in error: So how do I fix this ?"

-------

Fixing AirPods Paring Issues:

1. Pair these to the Correct Device:

Unpair it from the incorrect device, and then pair it with the correct one.

then...

2. Restart the iPhones:

Once unpaired, and one paired, perform a restart so that all is configured as it should on the iPhones: Go here: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

then...

3. Verify Your Devices:

See if you can verify that is accepted to your account, by using this link: Check your Apple ID Device List to See where you're Signed in - Apple Support. If something does not look familiar, then secure your account, start with a new password.

"when I goto find my on wife phone it correctly shows these AirPods. thats whats so weird."

Seeing these in Find My:

Note that the location shown is that of the devices these are paired to what itself last connected to the Internet. That is where these are seen. This is because AirPods are not assigned their own IP Address. So, is the iPhone with her? Is the iPhone connected to the Internet or a Cellular network? Are the AirPods with her? This seems to all come down to it being associated to HER Apple Account --not YOURS.

"The AirPods are paired with HER iPhone not mine. Yes she is carrying her iPhone so she can listen to music. When she went for a walk she has cellular enabled, there is no wifi in streets other than what is leaked from houses.as mentioned the AirPods are no longer on my account."

-------

All Seems Fine:

If they are seen under her account, then they are paired with her Apple Account, and they will be appear to be following here in Find My, whether on her or not they are in her hands.
