Facebook causing high CPU usage, high temps, and noisy fan on Mac Mini M2 Pro with Chrome

Hope someone here can help.

Lately my Mac Mini M2 Pro has gotten very hot after a while when using Facebook on Google Chrome.

The fan and temps are "going crazy", but drops immediately when closing the Facebook tab in Chrome.

It takes some time before it starts to "throttle", but after a while the cpu-usage, temps and fan rpm are going wild. Again, everything drops to normal when closing Facebook.

(I don't think this happens with Safari, but haven't tested for long enough time. I prefer using Chrome)

Why is this? What is Facebook using my CPU for?

If I have several tabs open, it's just the Facebook tab that "throttles" the CPU.

What does Zuckerberg use my CPU for? Is he mining Bitcoin? 🤣
