Apple 27" Thunderbolt Monitor losing brightness

I've had the 2 monitors for 12 years. I connected to my new Mac Studio by adapter to thunderbolt cable to the thunderbolt port on the monitor. One monitor lost brightness so I tried the built in cable. Brightness came back. A week later it lost brightness again. Tried swapping ports on the back of the Mac Studio, using different cables as well, brightness is still at 2/3rds.

Is the monitor on the way out or is there another fix - blow out the dust???

Look forward to a solution, thankyou

TB displays have been on the market for a while - therefore, many things can go wrong.

Most notorious is the cable, the Logic board.

Loosing the brightness - while retaining USB 2.0 function (such as speaker, webcam and USB 2.0 Hub) would lead to the "backlit" issue on the display panel.

I only have encountered this problem only once. I had to get rid of that panel because repair process is way out of my league.

If you Google search it - you can see few people tried to fix it. Sorry for the bad news.

Good news is - you probably can get a used TB display (if you still feel the nostalgia toward TB display) way cheaper than fixing it.

or

Get a different brand one.
