If you do not delete the app yourself, then it can either be deleted by:
So if you perform any update with Optimized Storage turned on and you do not have enough storage space to download the update, then apps will be offloaded to make room. That setting is not turned on by default, so that is something you would have to do yourself.

I had to offload all of my apps to install the new update and TikTok was one of them! for me it’s just entertainment but wth ! I offloaded all my apps and that’s the only one I can’t get back I just miss the general entertainment that I got from it . So if you have to offload apps don’t do it for TikTok

You are correct, offloading apps require them to be downloaded again from the App Store, which would not be possible if they are no longer available. This is only an issue when storage space is constrained and more space is needed. If a user has Optimized Storage turned on, then offloading apps to make room will happen automatically and they may find themselves in the same situation.
Updates don't remove apps. But the TikTok app has been banned in the US, so it might not work on your phone whether you update or not.
iOS 18.3 is beta software and it might delete TikTok.
iOS 18.3 was just released a few hours ago, it is no longer in Beta.
