iCloud for Pages - not syncing

I am having issues with iCloud on my MacBook where Pages and Keynote folders are not syncing. I can log in to iCloud and see all my files in iCloud Drive, but they are not replicating to the folders on my Mac.

I have 4 devices and on MacStudio and iPad all is fine, MacBook and iPhone both show the same issue. I can make a file, save it to the Pages iCloud folder and it appears on MacStudio and iPad. It never shows on the MacBook or phone though.

Same situation with the Keynote folder, no files show. Numbers folder is fine though and Notes are syncing ok.

I've tried doing iCloud sign out and sign in - no change

Today I did an Erase All Content and Settings, taking my mac back to factory and reinstalling everything, but iCloud is still having the same issue. I'm stuck! any ideas?

There is a System Settings > Avatar picture > iCloud > Saved to iCloud [ See All ] panel where you enable Pages and that will create and display a Pages folder on iCloud Drive. You enable this on other Macs running Ventura -> Sequoia and when you use the Pages save dialog, refer to that Pages - iCloud folder where the documents are deposited.

The consequence of enabling this feature is that when you launch Pages on the Mac, you now get a File Chooser instead of the default Template Chooser. You click File menu > New… to open the Template chooser.

When you reverse the first paragraph settings (e.g. disable iCloud > Pages) then that folder is hidden on iCloud Drive and new launches of Pages on the Mac open the Template chooser.

Thanks VikingOSX,

The Pages toggle is turned on for all of my devices. I can see a Pages folder in the local view of iCloud drive, its just that that folder doesn't seem to be the same as the folder i see at icould.com and on my other devices.

Take a look at the screengrab below.

On the left the view of iCloud -> Pages folder on my local device (see the path at the bottom of the window)

On the right the view of the iCloud.com Pages folder

On my MacStudio these folders are the same, in fact you can see a file I saved in my test earlier.

Numbers, Notes and Contacts all syncing fine – Pages and Keynote not.

I am confused

Replying to my own post…

I've just done a test. I made a Pages doc on my MacStudio saved it to iCloud -> Pages and in seconds it appears in Files on iPad, but not on MacBook or Phone. It also shows at iCloud.com

I made a Pages doc on MacBook, saved it to iCloud-> Pages in seconds it appears on Phone, but not on MacStudio or iPad. it is also NOT on iCloud.com

It's as if the iCloud folder on MacBook and iPhone is different from the one on MacStudio and iPad.

I'm logged into my only icloud account on all … curious

Quite honestly, I rarely use Pages in iCloud.com, but what I see right now is the contents of the Pages folder when viewed from iCloud.com via Drive > Browse > Pages folder matches what I see when selecting iCloud Drive > Pages folder from a Finder window on macOS Sequoia v15.2.

Although I have several Macs in the house, I do not bother with the iCloud Drive Pages folder syncing to those I don't regularly use. So, not sure I can be of much help to you.
