Scrolling in podcast transcripts

I'm trying to use the Apple Podcasts application on a desktop. The problem is, I don't have time to listen to podcasts. I want to just read the transcript. In the app I can't use the Page Down key or the Down Arrow key to scroll through the transcript. I can use the cursor in the scroll bar, but that is cumbersome and slow. I also can't select the text with Edit > Select All to copy it into a text editor window where I could scroll a faster way. I also can't select the text with the cursor except for the page currently displayed, so I can't select all the text by shift-clicking at the end. Is there a third-party podcast application with better features? Or can somebody at Apple fix this application to support scrolling through the keyboard?
