Music library on an external drive

I have got a new Mac Studio and i have now several external disks connected by thunderbolt. One of them contains the music library used with iTunes/Music and built up in the years.

is it possible to use it letting it on the external drive (sym link will be perfect) or am I obliged to import/copy the files on the sysem disk, reducing so consistently the aamount of space on tha internal disk?

Thanks

Mac Studio, macOS 15.2

For a new library press and hold down option as you launch Music, then create a new library called Music in your <External> drive.

If you have an existing library you can copy the Music Library.musiclibrary package into <External>/Music/ then option-start-Music and choose the library from the new folder, reset the media folder to <External>/Music/Media and consolidate to it.
