Broken Touchpad. Can't wipe MacBook Pro to recycle.

I have a 2010 Macbook Pro I want to send to Apple to recycle. Unfortunately, I never wiped off my data and it got knocked on the floor breaking the touchpad. Is there another way to wipe it clean when the touchpad won't respond? Do I just bring it to an Apple Store & ask them to recycle and wipe it clean? Thanks.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 15.2

Borrow a USB mouse and use that to wipe the computer.

Then do this: What to do before you sell, give away, trade in, or recycle your Mac - Apple Support

An Apple Store might wipe it for you. They certainly will recycle it.
