Apparently I have some virus or malware on my MacBook Air, is there a good app or software recommendation?

You can download Malwarebytes and have it take a look:

But as Jim said, it's not very likely that you actually have malware unless you've not been practicing "safe computing". If Malwarebytes doesn't turn up anything, post details as to what is happening with your Mac and someone can probably offer suggestions. My first one is that if you're still on macOS 15.1 as your profile indicates, update to the current version, macOS 15.2. That has a number of bug fixes and security updates.
Regards.

Your MacOS has anti-malware software built into it. There is no other recommended anti-virus app for the Mac.
These types of apps are unnecessary and often cause problems for the OS.
Keep your software updated and macOS is capable of keeping itself secure. There is no need to run any anti-virus, cleaners, optimizers or VPN apps. These apps often cause more problems and headache than they prevent because they conflict with the macOS’ built in securities. If you have this type of app installed, you should uninstall it according to the developer's instructions, and use best practices when using your Mac.
If you want to keep your Mac secure, follow this guidance:
• Keep your macOS and other software up to date.
• Don’t click links in email.
• Don’t download apps from unknown websites.
• Don’t disable your Mac’s built in security.

No, there is not any recommended AntiVirus software. Most will continue to run on your computer, slowing it down without providing any benefit. Removal is also difficult as they will want to remain on your computer forever.
