I am thinking of upgrading my 5k 27 2017 imac to a mini 4. I know that i can set up luna so that my imac becomes the only screen as I do not want two monitors. Will luna use the internal speakers and camera of my imac or do i need to buy a web cam and use external speakers.

The sentiment of long term using 5K iMac - that really got my eyes spoiled.
I have tried the luna route - it was not a good experience. I would not recommend that.
I had to resort to my old Thunderbolt Displays when I upgraded to M1 Mac Mini, until I saved enough for a Nano texture Studio Display and a LG 5K.
Option for the 5K iMac - repurpose: sell it - which I got low-ball offering (long story), strip it for selling parts, or Apple trade-in/recycle) or give it to educational institute...etc. (I am still keeping mine, in hope any 3rd party will come up better solution to use those 2 beautiful screens)

Note that after a long time when there were only two 27" 5K displays on the market (Apple's and LG's), we are finally starting to see 27" 5K displays from many vendors: Apple, LG, Samsung, Asus, BenQ, and ViewSonic.
Carefully read this disclaimer that is posted on the Luna Support Home page:

That says Luna is not appropriate to drive a primary display. There is no viable way to work around the fact that you need a proper external monitor.

There are very nice free-standing external monitors that have both speakers and camera built in. Example

Sell or repurpose the 2017 iMac and get a 27" or 32" aftermarket external display for the M4 Mac mini.

You can get an external display with a web cam or one without and use an external web cam.
You can get an external speaker system that will sound way better than the 2017 iMac built-in speakers.
You might post that question on the Luna support website.
A very poor solution, Luna is slow and not designed for that type of use. Please do it right and pick up an external display, for about $300 you can have a VERY nice solution.
